CA pictures!

We arrived home from ridgecrest CA yesterday at four. It took two days to drive there and three days to drive back because of the snow at the pass. We all had a great with our family. But it feels really good to be back home.
Driving in the van for hours and hours appears not to be peters favorite thing to do.
Dad and mom where we stopped for lunch on day 1 Nathan; at our first stop after we crossed the California border.

My mom with her sistersThe boys on the way to the funeral. Peter is at that age where it is impossible for him to look normal in a picture The pallbearers at the burial site
I am not exactly sure why but I really like this picture :)We drove by my moms old house We left on Tuesday for home but heard that the pass was all snowed over so we stopped in a really cute little town called Duensmuir where I saw enough snow in one day to last more for the next five years of my life After arriving back home I have a strange feeling that I have just visited every single public restroom in California...have no idea why!?! ;). I was looking on the calender today and realized that it is only nine days till Christmas. That came really fast. I guess now it's time to begun thinking about that.

Happy Birthday Peter!

Today Peter turns eight years old! I love this picture of him it shows the smile that he always has on and he looks so old in it! I always forget how old he is because he really seems so much older then he really is to me. In fact just recently we found out that not only do we have the same shoe size but the same size of shirt. Among other things he received a suit jacket for his Birthday and of course I was elected to try it on beforehand so they could see if it fit him. I am just glad I was able to do it at home instead of at the store which they at first threatened. I know it won't be long before he is taller then me. Well anyways, have a fun birthday and a great ninth year we love you peter!

Family update.

Fall is defiantly here to stay in Oregon. The leaves are turning and most of them our on the ground now. This is a picture of a tree in our front yard.
This one is our Japanese maple. It is defiantly my favorite. The leaves are just so bright it is so very lovely.

Ever since watching the World Series Abie, Peter and Hanni have really been into baseball. Despite the down pour of rain they go outside every day and play for hours. When they come in they are covered with mud and bruises. That doesn't seem to bother them. In fact they seem to think that is half the fun! This is how they end of spending most of their time. Trying to find the ball that got hit over in to the neighbors yard.

Tagged.

I got tagged last week by Sarah from “sealed to God”. The tag is to list six random things about you. Since I have already done this one before I decided to make it more exciting by listing six random things that I am sure you do not know about me. Well as long as you aren’t a family member. Because the things you guys don’t know about me I would rather keep that way:).

1: My favorite meal to make is Lentil spaghetti .

2: I am really shy around, and hate meeting new people.

3: I don’t cry when I slice onions.

4: I hate having windows open in the house. But in the car is a completely different matter.

5: I love Ugg boots. I am sorry, I can’t help it.

6: I only leaned how to read music notes this past year. Despite the fact I have taken piano lessons for five years.

If you do know these things the only possible reason for that is you have been stalking me the past five years.

Oh, yeah, I am supposed to tag six other people. Instead, if you read this and want to do it, consider yourself tagged:)

In response to your comments

I received this comment on my latest post on Chuck Baldwin.

"I had no idea Mr. Baldwin was going to be in Springfield! I'm so out of touch. I concur with him on voting for a non-Christian over a Christian who does not support the Constitution. The President of the United States is entirely an office created by the Constitution, not by the Bible, so the holder of the office is bound only to uphold the Constitution. Character would be an issue for any man, and it's doubtful that good character can abide without Christ, but I wouldn't have a litmus test for that. If I only voted for Christians I would rarely be able to vote for any office. By the way, none of your brothers meet the constitutional requirements for President - yet!"

I would like to reply.

I think we agree that God is ( or should be) the foremost thing in our lives. Which then follows that the Bible ( the word of God) should be next, not our man made and erred constitution.

For me to consider voting for a man. He has to first, live by the word of God, second the constitution.
If you really research it more I think you would be surprised by the number of people running independently for all different offices, who are Christians, and who uphold the standers of the Bible. But I admit that I have not lived though nearly as many elections as you have=) But I would sooner not vote, then vote for a man I do not think completely for fills the requirements that I think a president needs. I will not be responsible for voting a man ( or woman) into offices who does not live out what God expresses so clearly in his word. I am a Christan. I only ( will) vote for christens. Remember, a lesser of evils is still EVIL.

In your comment you said; "The President of the United States is entirely an office created by the Constitution, not by the Bible, so the holder of the office is bound only to uphold the Constitution" I can not disagree more! As Christan's we need to make every single little thing in our life glorify God. We are supposed to apply Gods law to everything in our life. Just like it is in every other place of our life, the Bible needs to be our guide book in choosing our President the constitution comes second! Also God allowed us, and guided men to make the position of a President. There is not a single thing in our lives that do not belong to God. And we must live by the rules that he gives us. I have to say that I am shocked by how many time I have heard this said! I can hardly believe that someone can really hold these beliefs!

Edit: I apologize if I sound angry in this reply. I really wasn't. I just happen to have a strong opinion on this ( can you tell?) I really don't mind answering your comments.

Chuck Baldwin Rally

Yesterday morning, Autumn my mom and I had the pleasure of attending a Chuck Baldwin rally in Springfield at Ihop. There were only 25 people there which sounds like a very small group. But to tell the truth that was 20 more then I was expecting. Eugene/Springfield is a very liberal city/s and every where I go I see Obama bumper stickers and other stuff like that. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama ends up wining the state of Oregon. Unfortunately, my camera went out of batteries before I could take much pictures at the rally. And the ones that I did get came out really bad. But I am posting one anyway, so to prove that I really was there:)

We got there an hour into his speech. But we still had a wonderful time. He talked about and answered questions on every issue, from the second amendment to "right to life". I heartily agreed with everything he said. Expect for one thing. He said that " I would sooner vote for someone who was not a Christian who believed in and hold up the standards of the constitution then someone who was a christian and did not". And as my mom said, "that is where we part ways". I do not believe in voting for a non christian. And if I was in that position I would just not vote ( or I would write in one of my brothers names=). But fortunately I don't think I will ever find myself in that situation. If there was a man who held the same beliefs as Chuck Baldwin I can not see how he could not be a Christan. Think about. If you did not believe in God or his word why would you have reason to fellow the constitution? Or do anything right or good! For example. You don't apologize to someone because it is easy, you do it because it is the right thing to do. Just like we are not voting for Chuck Baldwin because we think he will win. We are doing it because it is the right thing to do.
I like how Amanda Dixon put it " not to vote for the best chance, but the best choice".
I really do not think Mr Baldwin is going to win. But if we vote for him now, we will show America what we really want. And I pray that in the next few generation we will have a man like Chuck Baldwin for President. In fact I know that we will because of Gods promise.... "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7).

There is no doubt in my mind that either Obama or McCain will be our next President. But I am not afraid. I rest peacefully in the thought that God works everything out for his will and so that his Glory may be seen!

Miss Autumn

~Today is Autumns 13th Birthday~
When Autumn was born I was only one and a half but I still remember holding her for the first time. I could hardly believe it! A baby sister of my very own. To day I am still just as happy and proud of her as I was the first time I saw her. Since “day one” she has always been my best friend and my dearest companion. Since she was born we have never been far away from each other for more then a hour. When ever something funny or tragic has happened she is the first person I think to go to. I have so many fond memories of playing in the dirt, dressing dolls, playing church, making house, leaning to sew/knit together, and laughing and talking the whole 13 years. Autumn dear, you have make my life so much fun. How about another 13 years but this time with out the mud pies and and lets have our own purses this time. What do you think?
